But the expanded control of the hot hand on the SB2 make it very attractive.

BASS MICROSYNTH DAISY CHAIN PRO

I have a Pro version mainly because I control my fx with midi and without the midi adapter available at this time, I really didn't have a choice. But will have Midi in/out and can daisy chain midi data using the SA daisy chain cable between other SB2 pedals *Hot hand can be assigned to any cingular control knob, default is to morph presets *Future compatibility with SB2 pedals *Expression pedal compatible only with SA dual expression pedal Pro *6 presets *Midi control via standard midi cable, In only *Hot Hand controls only the amount of drive *Hot hand and expression pedal can be used at the same time *Expression pedal morphs between presets only *(edit) Oops, the eq SB2 *2 presets *Midi control, after midi adapter is released. I'm not sure how similar they are, but I can answer any questions you have about the filters in it most likely. I like to use an envelope filter (I use an MXR Bass EF) running into a digital octave pedal (for weird sounds I use the EQD Organizer, for normal sounds I use an EHX Pitchfork) and I dial the clean sound way down, or all the way out, then I run that into an OD for some warmth. If you're looking to make palatable/useful synth sounds, you're probably better just pairing up a few separate pedals than relying on just one. The Blue Box is a nasty fuzz, and the Bit Commander can do a cool bit reduced OD, an octavia-esque octave up, and a glitchy octave down/sub bass sound. I still use the Blue Box and Bit Commander because they do a solid job emulating an over driven analog synth (the EHX does as well, I just don't care for the way it sounds), but also because they work as more than just synth pedals. Also, the tracking is so shotty that that you probably just wont want to mess with them. In the case of the Boss, and Digitech they're pretty much one trick ponies with a sound that isn't super usable/versatile, and you'll probably get tired of them. Shipping Dimensions (L x W x H): 5.75" x 3.45" x 2.I'll say that I've owned a lot of these (Boss SYB-5, Digitech BSW, EHX Microsynth, EQD Bit Commander, and the MXR Blue Box), and honestly they're not typically going to be worth it. Built-in AC jack that accepts an optional EHX9.6DC power supply, comes with a 9V battery True bypass switching for maximum signal path integrity
